Phyllis has lived in Parkland County since 1975 and has actively served our community raising issues of concern to residents including:

  • Service delivery equity across the County; listening and working to provide solutions for resident issues.

  • Implementing the Regional Collaboration Plan with Stony Plain and Spruce Grove to seek out efficiencies that help control taxation.

  • Set Terms of Reference for a County Governance/Organization Review including communication with taxpayers for greater accountability, transparency and open dialogue.

  • Land Use Bylaw public input on development and agriculture land use.

  • Driving the County Fibre Study for full access to fast, secure and affordable internet to ensure community sustainability for business, jobs, youth and education.

  • Safe and caring communities – RCMP/Bylaw Enforcement response.

Honouring survivors and the lost children, Parkland County Mayor Shaigec and guests raised the Treaty Six flag. Ceremony respectfully led by Enoch Former Chief Jerome Morin and Paul Chief Arthur Rain with drummers. Elders Morin and Rain raised the Every Child Matters flag on Canada’s Orange Shirt Day on the path to acknowledging reconciliation. A memorable day for Enoch Band, Paul Band and Parkland County. Appreciation to Parkland’s Lorna Wolodko and Councillor Jensen for organizing this event.
